In his keynote Dirk Peter van Leeuwen, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Red Hat Asia Pacific shared about the potential of open source to influence change and enable innovation. He emphasized that open source is now at the forefront of every major breakthrough. According to him, Myanmar is an exciting market that’s primed for disruption and Red Hat is geared to play an important part in this transformation journey.
Through this event Red Hat hopes to connect and educate current and potential partners of its services and unique offerings in open source. Red Hat believes in developing an ecosystem of partners to empower a framework for open source technologies in Myanmar.
Red Hat looks forward to help businesses accelerate digital transformation in the areas of BFSI, telecommunications, insurance and government in Myanmar. Dirk Peter van Leeuwen also shared that, with the government’s big push in critical infrastructure to enable digital technologies, Red Hat’s innovative offerings are well positioned to help businesses in Myanmar succeed.
Further sharing about Red Hat’s business, Damien Wong, Vice President, General Manager of Red Hat ASEAN said that, Red Hat has a strong presence in ASEAN with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Red Hat is optimistic about the opportunities in Myanmar and has received a very positive interest from partners to extend Red Hat’s services in this region. He further highlighted that during their initial conversations with partners and customers there has been a strong willingness to embrace open source technology.
During the event, Yaw Hu Law, Regional Director of ASEAN Growth Economies also shared that Red Hat is one of the most engaged and collaborative partners in the ecosystem that is driving innovation and enabling businesses to benefit from the digital technologies. Red Hat believes in the power of its partners and the company looks forward to strengthen its existing partner relations while also forging new ones in emerging markets like Myanmar.
